Havana, September 3 (RHC)--Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez condemned the "Trading with the Enemy Act" extension on Cuba by U.S. President Josep Biden.

Biden is the 12th U.S. president to apply this 1917 law to the island, which is the pillar for the implementation of the U.S. blockade.

The foreign minister reaffirmed on Twitter that successive U.S. governments maintain the policy of abuse against the Caribbean island, which is "rejected by almost all member countries of the international community."

The Act limits trade and implements economic sanctions against Cuba.

When the 45th President of the White House, Donald Trump, followed up on the provision, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, expressed that such a position intensified the siege and harassment.

Likewise, he stated that in this way, the viciousness and perversity toward Cubans through an inhumane blockade would grow.

The Trading with the Enemy Act is the pillar for implementing the blockade. Since its proclamation, dozens of countries have been subjected to it.

Cuba is currently the only state still under sanctions under that century-old law.
