The president of the National Defense Council exchanged with inhabitants of the municipality of San Juan y Martínez, one of the most affected by the hurricane, to whom he assured that these difficult days must be filled with heroism, based on solving problems, advancing until total recovery.

The Cuban president was accompanied by the vice prime minister and head of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil Fernández, and the president of the Provincial Defense Council, Yamilé Ramos Cordero.

The head of state reiterated the call to help the brigades specialized in certain tasks to speed up the work in Pinar del Río, and the need to establish more effective information mechanisms in isolated places.

There he listened to concerns, and explained that the number of damaged houses in the province is considerable -more than 75 thousand-; meanwhile, progress will be made more quickly in the partial damages and at a slower speed in the case of total collapses, taking into account the inflow of resources and the possibility of finishing the residences.
