Santa Clara, Nov 8 (RHC) On Tuesday, the First Latin American and Caribbean Youth Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba visited the Ernesto Guevara memorial, where the remains of the Argentine-Cuban guerrilla commander are buried.

At the sculpture complex, the young people laid a wreath in front of the bronze statue of Guevara and later visited the memorial to honor the combatants who fell in the 1967 Bolivian guerrilla war in the last century, and are buried next to their leader.

Lusmialit Perdomo, deputy minister for women's development and member of the national leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, told Prensa Latina that the Che Guevara memorial is a beautiful space full of spirituality.

"In Che, his speeches and his words were addressed mainly to the youth, in addition to his example as a young revolutionary, he recalled.

"We carry in our hearts Gue´s premise that a different world can be created and that youth is the clay that we can mold and design to build that universal endeavor," emphasized Perdomo.

The Honduran Lourdes Dubón, the representative of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Network in the Youth Commission, condemned the U.S. blockade against Cuba and pointed out that the U.S. leaders do not want to realize that these measures affect the humble Cuban people the most.

We are going to be the pioneers to continue with this type of brigade, to attract more of the world's youth to know the reality of Cuba.

Made up of young people from Chile, Bolivia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Honduras, and Venezuela, the brigades are touring the country in homage to the Honduran environmentalist Bertha Cáceres and the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

With this national tour, they will develop a broad program that includes visits to sites of historical, economic, and cultural interest. (Source: PL)
