Havana, Nov 9 (RHC) The deputy minister for Cultural Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Ministry, Omar Ghobash, traveled to Cuba to attend an important forum of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) that will begin tomorrow.
The regional organization will hold its 6th Conference on International Cooperation in Havana on November 10 and 11 under the theme "The Greater Caribbean, building bridges of transformation and innovation towards a future of sustainable progress".
The objective of the event is to promote North-South, South-South, and triangular collaboration, based on the strategic lines of the 2022-2028 Action Plan implemented by the ACS.
Likewise, the meeting will enable the exchange between representatives of member states, associates and observers of the Association, as well as other guests, seeking to stimulate the mobilization of resources for development cooperation, generating regional projects towards new dynamics in the economic, social, cultural, environmental and technological-digital fields.
Since 2017, the United Arab Emirates has been an observer member of the ACS.
Ghobash heads his country's delegation to the Caribbean event to further consolidate the solid relations that the UAE and Cuba are developing.
His visit is an opportunity to continue strengthening ties between the two countries by exploring more avenues of cooperation, especially in the economic and cultural fields, the UAE embassy told Prensa Latina.
As part of the official program in Cuba, the deputy minister will hold bilateral meetings with the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs, and will deliver a speech at the Higher Institute of International Relations "Raul Roa Garcia". (Source: PL)
