Havana, Nov 9 (RHC) Spanish journalist and filmmaker Ana Hurtado laid a wreath to Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara at the memorial that bears his name in the central Cuban city of Santa Clara on Wednesday.

In front of the niche of the Argentine-Cuban commander and those of his comrades of the Latin American guerrilla in Bolivia, the intellectual expressed:

"Thank you, Commander, for understanding that one can love Cuba and this revolution without having to be born on the island or have Cuban blood, as well as knowing as the apostle José Martí said that good people have to look to where duty is and not on which side one lives better."

Ana Hurtado also held a meeting with students and communication professionals at the government headquarters of Villa Clara province.

In the exchange, she pointed out that the figure of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro (1926-2016) was what attracted her to Island and his legacy is in her heart.

She called on young people to defend the truth of Cuba through social networks, exposing the achievements of the Revolution in education, health, and welfare of the people.

She praised the leading role of Cuban youth and urged them to turn to the historical memory of the country and learn from the men and women who have been fighting for more than 60 years against the U.S. blockade of Cuba.

The first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Villa Clara, Osnay Miguel Colina, and the governor, Alberto López, presented the visitor with symbolic objects related to the figure of Che Guevara and the history of Villa Clara's culture. (Source: PL)
