Havana, November 18 (RHC)-- Cuba's Prime Minister Manuel Marrero has called for the speedy restoration of discipline, order and control of economic activities in the country through an integrated action from the government.

In the working meeting where such urgent issues were analyzed, he urged to increase actions to counteract the visible crimes and illegalities in the territories, while emphatically stressing that it is not a confrontation against the new economic actors, but a fight against those who act with their backs to the law, without distinguishing forms of property.

The Head of the Cuban Government assured that in the 15 provinces and in the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud, actions aimed at stopping theft, hoarding and corruption are being developed, based on the general directives approved in the last Council of Ministers, to confront these problems.

Marrero read several opinions of the population which address the scenarios of impunity in commercial and gastronomic establishments.
He affirmed that there is a favorable impact on the people of the recent police operations, mainly in Havana and Santiago de Cuba, against illegal conducts in the commercialization of products and services and against irrational and abusive prices.

For her part, the head of Finance and Prices, Meisi Bolaños, emphasized the need to create and strengthen stable work systems, based on the training of specialists "to identify when we are facing an abusive or speculative price".   In this sense, she assured that the regulations to face the price and tax situation have been prepared.

The Cuban prime minister requested more exigency and control of the state entities, from which, he affirmed, the products often come out.
"We cannot be contemplative, nor can we be passive in the face of these realities."

In the meeting, which he linked via videoconference from the Palace of the Revolution, the Prime Minister called for a rigorous compliance with this comprehensive plan to combat resellers and hoarders.  He also asked for more exigency and control of state entities, from which -he affirmed- products often come out: "we cannot be contemplative or passive in the face of these realities."
