Havana, Nov 30 (RHC) President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Wednesday joined the congratulations to Cuba's rum masters who were incorporated into the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
In his Twitter account, the president described this event as a "fair recognition to those who have managed for centuries to create the best rum in the world" and added that "when we say Cuba, we also think of them."
The day before, the knowledge of Cuban masters of light rum, which is transmitted orally from one generation to another of these experts, was included by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in its list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
In declarations to Prensa Latina, members of that movement affirmed that tradition and accumulated knowledge make it possible to elaborate a unique product, labeled as the liquid flavor that represents Cuba.
Over the past 160 years, exquisite blends have evolved time after time into refined products that arouse interest around the world and the recognition of their extraordinary quality, fruits of the work of eight generations of specialists, they added. (Source: Prensa Latina).
