Cuban President's visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Havana, Dec 5 (RHC) Means of communication in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday highlighted the three-day official visit of Cuban President Miguel-Díaz Canel to that Antillean nation, at the invitation of Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves.

The weekly Searchlight reported that during the presence of the two dignitaries at the Medical and Diagnostic Center in the city of Georgetown, Gonsalves considered as a "lie" the statement by the U.S. Government that Cuban doctors cooperating in different countries "are victims of human trafficking".

According to the national newspaper, the San Vincentian prime minister said before health personnel from both nations, that "the United States of America does not understand the internationalist and selfless character of the Cuban people”; therefore it resorts to lies.

I Witness News reproduced Gonsalves' opinion when he expressed in the Center, that Washington "should support a program in its  territory to provide the good services offered by Cuban doctors in countries like ours".

This local media also referred to Díaz-Canel’s visit to the Parliament on Monday to participate in a special session in his honor.

The visiting president thanked the legislators for the show of support and the resources shared by that nation after accidents and natural disasters occurred in Cuba.

Díaz-Canel arrived in Kingstown last Saturday and in the afternoon he spoke with his host.

This Monday he arrived in Barbados, where tomorrow he will participate in the VIII Caricom-Cuba Summit (Source: PL).
