Havana, Jan 22 (RHC) The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, bid farewell to President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to participate in the 7th CELAC Summit, national television reported.

 

Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and Roberto Morales, Secretary of the Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, also arrived at the José Martí International Airport in the capital.

 

The Cuban delegation to the meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) is also made up of Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez; the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, and other executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

This CELAC Summit will take place in the Argentine capital next Tuesday, with the presence of representatives of the 33 member nations of the bloc.

 

Before his departure, the Cuban head of state expressed the aspiration that "unity in diversity, a key principle we share, will allow us to act as a solid family to promote Latin America and the Caribbean in the discussion of the global agenda".

 

Through a video message released on Twitter, he pointed out that this will be the time to strengthen this "integration mechanism that we have the duty and the opportunity to revitalize". (Source: Prensa Latina)
