Cuban Foreign Minister completes extensive work agenda in Geneva

Havana, March 1 (RHC) On Tuesday, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez held talks at the United Nations in Geneva with high-ranking officials from several countries, including his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad al-Maliki, to whom he ratified the island's solidarity.

In the context of his participation in the high-level segment of the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council, the diplomat reaffirmed to Al-Maliki the support of the Antillean nation for a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

During the meeting, Rodriguez advocated for the right of Palestine to have an independent State, under the pre-1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Foreign Minister also spoke in the Swiss city with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov. Both highlighted the level of bilateral ties and the traditional friendship between the two countries.

They also expressed interest in further strengthening relations and multilateral coordination, especially within the Non-Aligned Movement and the Group of 77 plus China.

On this day, the head of the Cuban diplomacy also held talks with Ambassador Majid Al-Suwaidi, director general of the 28th United Nations Conference on Climate Change, scheduled for the end of the year in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Regarding the event and the topic, the diplomat highlighted the fight against climate change as a priority for the island and the willingness to contribute to the success of the Conference. (Source: Prensa Latina)
