The government decreed a state of emergency after the passage of tropical cyclone Judy.

Havana, Mar 4 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed Saturday his country's solidarity with the people and government of Vanuatu after the serious damage caused by cyclones Judy and Kevin.

On his Twitter account, Cuban foreign minister wished a speedy recovery to the island nation in the Pacific region, which in a few days also suffered two earthquakes.

The day before, the government decreed a state of emergency after the passage of tropical cyclone Judy, which devastated several areas, the shocks caused by two earthquakes, and the threat posed by cyclone Kevin.

This tropical organism crossed the country with category four on the scale applied in this region of the planet and is currently moving through the Pacific with category five and maximum sustained winds of 220 kilometers per hour.

Electrical and communications outages, as well as hundreds of evacuees, were the balance left by Judy, according to the Vanuatu Daily Post, while the damages caused by the new meteor are being counted.

Vanuatu is a Pacific archipelago composed of 83 islands with a total surface of 12,200 square kilometers and inhabited by a little more than 283,000 inhabitants. (Source: PL)
