Cuba will take actions to crack down on fight steep prices
Havana, April 1 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Friday urged to capitalize on authorities’ direct contacts with population to draw up strategies to crack down on rising prices.
“All we learnt during our national visits has to lead us to a different work to deal with pressing issues”, the Cuban leader said in a meeting with the Council of Ministers.
Cuban president’s reflections were motivated by guidelines issued by the country’s Finance and Prices Ministry to take steeped-up actions to regulate and confront outrageous prices. Díaz-Canel also stressed that the real solution is to increase goods and service productions, and the salary to reach greater purchasing power.
According to Meisi Bolaños, Finance and Prices Minister, price violations are present in high impact products as well as in social consumption, detected either in state-run entities or private business. (Source: Prensa Latina)
