The exhibition Work in progress, as part of the Month of Europe in Cuba, advocates for a world without child violence 

Havana, Apr 7 (RHC) The Swedish Embassy in Havana and the Cuban scenic laboratory EL ARCA Theater Museum today merge various artistic expressions in the exhibition Work in progress, which advocates for a world without child violence.

The proposal, which is inserted in the program of the Month of Europe in Cuba (from April 9 to May 9, 2023), will take place on May 5 at the headquarters of the cultural institution of the isa, dedicated to the theater of puppetry.

According to the organizers, the exhibition is related to the text The Stone in the Stomach, by the Swedish playwright Rebecca Örtman, inspired by Astrid Lindgren's talk "Never Violence" dealing with the rights of girls and boys.

Last year the local ensemble offered a dramatized reading of Örtman's work, as part of an initiative managed by Cuban groups and the diplomatic representation of that European country, and the coordination of theatrical specialist Yudd Favier.

The piece, which will also arrive on stage in a puppet show together with Christian Medina and the Salamandra group, is a moving story, "where the protagonists are children who, while playing, reveal very painful themes filtered by the magic that only the infantile universe possesses".

In this way, the project defends a world without violence, while exhibiting the work of the Theater Museum in the area of ​​making dolls and scenery, which is distinguished by its quality in the Cuban puppeteer scene. (Source: Prensa Latina)
