Cuba at Summit of the Association of Caribbean States
Havana, May 11 (RHC) A Cuban delegation is in Antigua Guatemala to participate tomorrow in the 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS).
The Cuban representation is chaired by Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs; and made up of officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Investment, and Science, Technology and Environment.
The maximum event, convened under the theme Innovative integration through the sustainable development of the Greater Caribbean, will be preceded by the 28th meeting of the ACS Council of Ministers.
The event is aimed at renewing the commitments of the member and associated States, which gave rise to the organization in 1994; in addition to strengthening cooperation and regional integration in the Caribbean.
The ACS arrives at these events after an intense renewal process to make its operation more effective, convinced of the benefit that regional projects in priority areas of the organization bring to its membership, such as the protection of ecosystems and vulnerable populations. (Source: Cubaminrex)
