Forum on the current Cuban reality will meet in Costa Rica
Havana, Jul 26 (RHC) A forum on the current Cuban reality will this Wednesday meet in San José, Costa Rica, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, on July 26, 1953.
Convened by the office of Costa Rican deputy Rocío Alfaro, from the Frente Amplio faction, it will be held in the conference room of the Costa Rican Legislative Assembly in downtown San José.
Cuba, myths and realities about the present is the theme of the forum-debate, with the presence of the Cuban ambassador Jorge Rodríguez and moderated by the deputy Alfaro.
The exchange takes place on the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada barracks in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in Bayamo, under the guidance of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro against the tyranny of Fulgencio Batista.
From that moment, in the opinion of analysts and historians, the events began the last stage of Cuban independence, after the two previous wars in the second half of the 19th century against Spanish colonialism. (Source: PL)
