Santiago de Cuba, July 30 (RHC)-- A representation of Santiago residents paid tribute today to Frank País García and Raúl Pujols Arencibia, on the 66th anniversary of the assassination of both fighters by the Fulgencio Batista regime.

In that historical site of the untamed city, teenagers and young people received the membership card of the Young Communist League and the PCC.

Yasnay Hérnandez, from the Municipal Food Services Company, on behalf of the newly accredited, ratified the commitment of the new generations to maintain the legacy of those young people who offered their lives to the cause of the Revolution.

On the Day of the Martyrs of the Revolution, wreaths from Army General Raul Castro, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC and President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, the president of the Parliament, Esteban Lazo, and the whole country, also arrived at the Santa Ifigenia patrimonial cemetery.

The tributes were laid at the 26th of July Martyrs' Pantheon and at the tomb where the remains of the teacher, leader of action and sabotage of the 26th of July Movement who, at only 22 years of age, won the admiration of all his people.

To commemorate the history of the young coordinator of the clandestine struggle and his comrades, the authorities of the territory also visited the Frank País House Museum, where the young leader was born and lived until his assassination. (Source: ACN)
