Havana, August 4 (RHC)-- The Cuba-Kenya Business Forum will meet today at the Taganana Room of the National Hotel, in the capital, as part of the efforts and aspirations of both nations to strengthen and increase economic and trade ties.

The meeting will take place within the framework of the Reverse Business Mission to Cuba of the Kenyan agency Walulu Trade and Investment Advisory Associates: WATRA-Africa, and the business delegation that accompanies it.

According to the Chamber of Commerce, on this occasion a large number of companies from the following sectors will be received: food agro-industry, tourism, education, health, ICTs, energy, construction and sports.

Their managers or representatives will learn about the opportunities and facilities offered by Cuba in terms of foreign investment and foreign trade, in addition to exchanging with Cuban businessmen in those fields.

On December 19, 2022, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel received Alfred Mutua, Foreign Minister of Kenya, during a meeting in which both parties ratified the will to strengthen relations.

At the Palace of the Revolution, the president ratified to the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and the Kenyan Diaspora the willingness to expand exchanges with the African nation, with which there are strong ties.

Havana and Nairobi established diplomatic relations in 1995 and bilateral cooperation is developed mainly in the education and health sectors.

Diplomatic sources of that country announced last year the interest in extending the agreements to sports, the biopharmaceutical industry, trade, agriculture and culture.
