Cuba ratifies commitment to science and research in Health at the United Nations General Assembly
Havana, Sep 18 (RHC) The Minister of Health, José Ángel Portal, this Monday ratified Cuba's commitment to science, research and development in the field of health, despite economic challenges.
The official is part of the Cuban delegation that accompanies President Miguel Díaz-Canel in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly where they will share important priorities with the international community.
Portal highlighted that Cuba has invested in the training of highly qualified health professionals and has developed medicines and vaccines that benefited millions of people around the world.
He reiterated the island’s commitment to using science, technology and innovation as fundamental tools to address global health challenges, and stressed that it advocates for greater international cooperation in medical research, knowledge exchange and technology transfer, to ensure that everyone has equitable access to quality medical care.
