Havana will host Second Meeting of Sound Professionals
Havana, Sept 29 (RHC) Havana will host from October 17 to 19 the 2nd International Meeting of Sound Professionals, an academic event motivated by dialogue and the exchange of knowledge between experts in the field.
This year, around 20 highly prestigious speakers in the art of sound, both national and foreign, will participate. The experts will come together in conferences, workshops, practical classes and debate spaces that will be held at the Plaza Cultural Center on 31 in the Plaza municipality, in Havana.
Convened by the Musical Recordings and Editions Company (EGREM) and the University of the Arts (ISA), with the support of the British Council and the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de Los Baños, the event seeks to promote and debate the challenges and perspectives of this specialty in the current context.
It will be divided into four fundamental themes: Sound in music production studios, Sound in audiovisuals, Industry and production, and Sounds in live shows.
For the first time, the event goes beyond the boundaries of sound in the studio, the reason for the previous edition, as it is expected to involve musicians, arrangers, managers and officials from the music industry.
In the opinion of the organizers, one of the attractions of the event is the participation of the English engineer Barry Stephen Grint, recognized for his collaborations with artists like Madonna, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Paul McCartney, among others.
Other great exponents of the sound universe such as Natalia Perleman (Argentina), María Elisa Ayerbe (Colombia-United States), Oscar and Kenya Autié (United States) and Gustavo Sachetti (Mexico), will share their knowledge available to attendees.
Also worth noting is a guided tour of the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de Los Baños, a conference where DJs will discuss the main concerns in this sector and a practical class to show how a live concert is organized, among other activities.
