Havana, December 18 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel is heading today the debates of the Economic Affairs Committee, prior to the second regular session of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament), in its 10th Legislature.
Also participating in the analysis of strategic issues for the country are the President of the Parliament Esteban Lazo and other authorities of the Government and the Party.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic and Minister of Economy and Planning, Alejandro Gil, provided information to the deputies on the estimated closing date of Plan 2023 and presented the objectives and goals of Plan 2024.
He denounced that the blockade continues to be the main obstacle for the development of the economy of the Caribbean nation, added to the multidimensional crisis at international level and the macroeconomic challenges in the country.
Likewise, he detailed that the nation maintained a negative gap with respect to the economic levels reached before 2019, the reference year, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictive measures imposed by the U.S. Government.
