Beijing, January 1 (RHC)-- Cuban diplomats and residents in China celebrated today the 65th anniversary of the revolutionary triumph on the island, recalled the milestones of the work of 2023 and their contribution to bilateral ties.

Ambassador Alberto Blanco said that the achievements of the state mission in the Asian giant were distinguished by its contribution to the implementation of the consensus reached between Presidents Miguel Diaz-Canel and Xi Jinping.

In this regard, he distinguished the consolidation of political dialogue at the highest level with the Chinese leadership, the reactivation of detained strategic projects and progress in intergovernmental aid projects.

"The support of the Cuban community in China and their willingness to continue strengthening ties with that land where they were born and which unites us all, as one big family," he added.

Blanco invited all nationals to work together to further strengthen ties between Beijing and Havana, and thus contribute to the socio-economic transformations of the Caribbean country.

On the revolutionary triumph, the ambassador stressed that the anniversary is "a symbol of the rebelliousness of our people as an inherent part of the national culture, forged under the influence of the wars of independence that ended on January 1, 1959".

China and Cuba boosted their economic-commercial relations, strengthened mutual political trust with high-level meetings and signed several agreements during a fruitful year for their ties. In 2023, the presidents of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and the Asian giant, Xi Jinping, held talks in the context of the XV Brics Summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and ratified the excellent state of their ties.

The agreements signed this year covered different sectors of bilateral cooperation such as transportation, biotechnology, agri-food, renewable energy, tourism, infocommunications, sugar industry, trade and digital television. (Source: Prensa Latina)
