Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan shakes hands with Alternate Representative of the United States in the United Nations, Robert Wood.   Tel Aviv's representative thanked Washington's envoy for keeping Palestine out of the UN and his country's "ironclad" support for genocide in Gaza

Havana, April 19 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today expressed his rejection of the U.S. veto against Palestine's membership in the United Nations (UN).

In the message, the Cuban leader asserted that all the hypocrisy and cynicism of the U.S. policy was exposed once again before the UN Security Council, incapacitated by the empire's veto, to face and resolve the most serious international conflicts.

The United States vetoed the day before a draft resolution that would allow Palestine to become a permanent member of the UN.

The Security Council vote, proposed by Algeria on behalf of the Arab group, was held this Thursday: 12 countries voted in favor, two (the United Kingdom and Switzerland) abstained and Washington voted against.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
