Cuban children's theater group inaugurates festival in Türkiye
Havana, April 25 (RHC) The Cuban group La Colmenita inaugurated today in Ankara the 14th International Children's Theater Festival “Little Ladies, Little Gentlemen".
Invited by the Grand State Theater of Türkiye, the renowned company from the Caribbean island gave presentations during the last week in Istanbul and Ankara, which contributed to strengthening cultural relations between both countries.
This Festival aims at contributing to the celebration of National Independence Day and Children's Festival; providing and introducing the global extension of Turkish theater through children; and contributing to intercultural development.
The event welcomes groups from 28 countries, among them Cuba, Canada, Russia, China, Israel, Spain and the United Kingdom.
After the presentation of La Colmenita, a work meeting took place at the residence of the Cuban ambassador in Ankara, Alejandro Díaz, with the participation of the main directors of the Türkiye State Grand Theater and Carlos Alberto Cremata, director of La Colmenita.
The meeting addressed the potential for bilateral collaboration in the sphere of culture, in particular the establishment of a cooperation program between the Cuban children's theater company and the Türkiye State Grand Theatre.
The day before, La Colmenita, Unicef Goodwill Ambassador since 2007, attended the Nazim Hikmet cultural center to celebrate the national day with Turkish children. (Source: PL)
