Solidarity container leaves Alicante for Cuba

Madrid, Jul 8 (RHC) A 40-foot solidarity container left Alicante, Spain, bound for Cuba, specifically to the National Institute of Angiology and Vascular Surgery in Havana.

This was informed today by José Manzaneda, coordinator of Cubainformación, in a note detailing that it is a cargo worth about 100 thousand Euros consisting of sanitary material.

The Association of Friendship with Cuba "Miguel Hernández" was in charge of the shipment, in an operation of solidarity coordinated by Dr. José Ignacio Fernández Montequín.

The collected materials were obtained thanks to the collaboration of the health union sections of the Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) in the hospitals of San Juan de Alicante and Villajoyosa.

In addition, other items donated by the Association "Ni un pas enrere" of El Campello, destined for the National Center of Art Schools (CENEART), and by various individuals, are also included.

In the words of Jesús Gil, president of the Association of Friendship with Cuba "Miguel Hernández" of Alicante, the action is framed "in the constant activity of denouncing the criminal US blockade against Cuba, hardened by the 243 additional measures of the Trump (Donald) administration, continued by that of Biden (Joe).

A genocidal policy, which aims to surrender Cuba through hunger and shortages of all kinds, something they have not been able to achieve, due to the heroic resistance of its people, - Gil continued .

The objective of loading the container, not without difficulties, was achieved thanks to the solidarity commitment of more than 30 activists from different political organizations, the Association of Neighbors "Divina Pastora", the Miguel Hernandez Association of Alicante and other individuals, the source said.
