Weighted Cuban media coverage of Expocaribe 2024

Santiago de Cuba, Jul 12 (RHC) Daniel Urrutia, director of territorial attention of the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Cuba, expressed today in this city his gratitude to the press for the quality coverage of Expocaribe 2024 to the country and the world.

The recognition took place in an exchange carried out by the official and Madelaine Cortés, Director of Foreign Trade in Santiago de Cuba, with journalists and communicators who participated in the second commercial exchange of the country.

Urrutia explained that the leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba insists on the need to achieve the export vocation of Cuban entrepreneurs with a view to the country's economic take-off, and to this interest contributes the work of the press media, with the dissemination of the potential and achievements during the fair.

On the other hand, Cortes said that four new hotels in Santiago de Cuba are operated by foreign chains, thanks to the Expocaribe agreements, as well as the Cuban-Italian company Biocubacafé SA, which operates in the southeastern part of the country, is the result of the business meeting.

In response to the concerns of the journalists present, Cortés stressed the need to continue training local businessmen so that they are able to negotiate and reach agreements more frequently, and highlighted the contribution of the Universidad de Oriente, where a curricular program of improvement in Business Administration is being offered.

He announced that the 20th edition of Expocaribe will be held from June 23 to 27, 2025, and explained that work is already underway to make it even bigger. He considered that the work of the press and social communicators can contribute to the achievement of this goal. (Source: Prensa Latina)
