Chinese Ambassador to Cuba affirms that the two countries are good friends, comrades and brothers

Havana, July 31 (RHC) China's new ambassador to Cuba, Hua Xin, affirmed  that the two countries are good friends, comrades and brothers who together oppose hegemony and unilateral sanctions.

During a ceremony held in the capital to mark the 97th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army of China, which will be officially celebrated on August 1, the diplomat assured that the Asian giant firmly implements an independent and peaceful foreign policy and promotes the construction of a community of shared future for humanity.

He added that China is committed to just and orderly international multi-polarization and inclusive and win-win economic globalization.

Hua reiterated his country's rejection of the blockade imposed by the United States and the call to remove the island from the unilateral list of state sponsors of terrorism.

"As the new ambassador to Cuba, I am ready to work with all sectors of this society to resolutely implement the important consensuses of the leaders of the two parties and countries, deepen cooperation (...) and give new connotations to the construction of a community of shared future China-Cuba," he said.

For his part, the defense attaché of the diplomatic mission, Colonel Luo Tiefeng, emphasized that Cuba and the Asian nation share the same glorious history and heroic spirit of courage.

In this sense, he stressed that the People's Liberation Army of China is willing to work with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of the island to fight against hegemony and the policy of violence, in addition to seeking peace, security and development of both countries and building the international community of justice and equality.

The first colonel said that in these 97 years, the army has become a powerful and modernized national defense force, which is making great strides under the leadership of President Xi Jinping.

He stressed that the Asian giant is a staunch supporter and active participant in United Nations peacekeeping operations, while "continuing to make contributions to maintaining world peace and promoting common development".

The commemoration was attended by the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Army Corps General Alvaro Lopez, and other officers of the Caribbean nation. (Source: PL)
