Cuba congratulates the Principality of Liechtenstein
Havana, Aug 15 (RHC) The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs today congratulated the Principality of Liechtenstein on the occasion of the Day of the Assumption, National Holiday of that nation located in the Alps.
We congratulate the people and government of the Principality of Liechtenstein on the occasion of its National Holiday, states a message from the Foreign Ministry published on X and Facebook.
Cuba reiterates its willingness to strengthen relations between both nations, adds the text.
The celebration of the National Holiday was instituted in 1940 and is closely connected with the birthday of Prince Franz-Josef II of Liechtenstein (1906-1989), one of the most important figures of the Principality in the context of World War II (1939-1945).
Historically, Liechtenstein has voted in favor of the resolution condemning the United States blockade against Cuba, presented during the session of the United Nations General Assembly at the end of each year.
The Principality is a small European state located on the border between Switzerland and Austria, with 160 square kilometers of land area, and just over 38 thousand inhabitants. (Source: Prensa Latina)
