Transportation Minister evaluates repair and maintenance work on Quinta Avenida tunnel

Havana, 18 August (RHC) The Minister of Transportation, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, evaluated in Havana the repair and maintenance works of the Quinta Avenida tunnel in the capital's Playa municipality.

The Basic Unit of Tunnel Exploitation, Mipyime Enconat and other entities are carrying out the work at the site, which includes patching, cleaning and unblocking the three batteries of grids, exploring the lighting to assess the cables and electrical components, visual inspection of the ceilings and the removal and installation of tiles on the damaged walls.

According to the work program, the direction Playa-Plaza de la Revolución will be closed until the 21st and from the 23rd to the 21st of this month, the direction Plaza de la Revolución-Playa will be closed from 0900 to 1800 hours.

The Minister of Transportation informed on his Facebook profile that the maintenance works will contribute to keep in good condition this road that connects the municipalities of Playa and Plaza de la Revolución.
