Cuba and Belize conclude round of migration talks

Havana, August 29 (RHC) Diplomatic representatives of Cuba and Belize will conclude today the fourth round of migration talks, which began the day before in Belmopan, capital of the Central American nation.

According to the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting the parties verify compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding for the Exchange of Migration Alerts and Security Information, as an effective instrument to achieve regular, orderly and safe migration. Likewise, they evaluate the state of the migratory flow between both countries and the crimes associated with it.

The Belizean delegation is headed by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, Amalia Mai, while the Cuban delegation is chaired by Ana Teresita González Fraga, general director of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Living Abroad.

In the context of the meeting, González met with a representation of Cuban health collaborators who provide their services in the Central American nation.

The agenda of the Cuban delegation also includes a meeting with fellow citizens residing in Belize, as an expression of the strengthening of ties between the Caribbean nation and its emigrants. (Source: Prensa Latina)
