Díaz-Canel in Mayabeque says: We have lived through very hard times, but we are getting through them

Havana, October 24 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel toured this Thursday sites of economic and social interest in the municipality of Batabanó, located in the western province of Mayabeque.

The president began his tour of the San Fermín farm, which comprises 10 hectares, where mostly tomatoes, garlic, malanga and cassava are planted.

The head of state also visited the Mayabeque fishing company, Pescamay, where, in addition to its export products, the productions contribute to the food balance of the municipality and the province, with priority to nursing homes and maternity homes, schools and medical diets.

Another point on the head of state's agenda was a housing community that is being built to benefit families living in the lower area of ​​Surgidero de Batabanó.

According to the Presidency of the Republic on the social network X, there will be 39 comfortable houses, of which 12 are finished and eight currently being built.

When talking with the people, at various points on the tour, Díaz-Canel acknowledged that "we have lived through very hard times, but we are getting through them." We cannot do everything we would like, he said, but we are not stopped.

This Thursday, the president also visited entities in the province of Artemisa, as part of his work agenda for the municipalities of the country.
