Cuba and China promote cultural exchanges with children

Havana, Nov 19 (RHC) Cuban artist Emilio Wong Ramírez, representing the island, delivered a lecture at a local elementary school in China today, as part of a cultural exchange program organized by the Cuba Cultural Exchange Center of the China-Latin America Industrial Park.

The lecture aimed at increasing students' knowledge about the Caribbean nation.

Wong shared with the children the traditions, history, and cultural uniqueness of the largest of the Antilles. He also highlighted the friendly ties between China and Cuba, which are based on shared historical struggles, mutual political trust, and growing multisectoral cooperation.

The artist provided insights into the daily life and education of Cuban children, giving attendees a direct glimpse into the island's society.

The children of Jing-zhou Number Two Elementary School in China and the plastic artist engaged in a dialogue, exchanging comments, questions, and concerns. They emphasized the importance of building bridges between distant cultures.

Recently, the official in charge of Cultural Affairs at the Embassy, Moraima Rodríguez, emphasized the significance of bringing the new generations in China closer to the wide range of manifestations that Cuban culture encompasses.

During a film event of the island held in Beijing, the representative expressed her desire for children, adolescents, and young people to learn about the reality, customs, and language of the Caribbean nation.

In Rodríguez's view, despite the geographical distance, Cuba and China are united by many factors, culture being one of them. (Source: PL)
