Foreign Ministers of Cuba and Syria review situation in the Levantine country

Havana, Dec 5 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez this Wednesday expressed solidarity with Syria, through a phone call to his counterpart Bassam Sabbagh, in the face of the current escalation of terrorist acts.

According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry in Damascus, the two ministers discussed the events in the northern part of Syria following the offensive launched by the terrorist group Hayet Tahrir Al-Cham, formerly known as the Al-Nusra Front. They also discussed the impact of this attack on the security and stability of Syria and its people.

Sabbagh detailed the extent of the attack, which was meticulously planned and prepared, and involved external support. The goal was to undermine the state and destabilize the security and stability of the country.

Sabbagh urged for support in countering terrorism and combating all its forms. He also called for intensified efforts to expose all forms of external, military, and logistical support that terrorist organizations receive.

In response, the Cuban minister condemned the attack on Syrian cities and expressed his country's unwavering support and solidarity with Syria in the fight against terrorism. He reiterated the need to preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria.

According to state media, the Syrian-Russian operations over the past six days have resulted in the death of approximately two thousand radicals.

On November 27, terrorist groups in the northwest of the country launched a fierce offensive, capturing Aleppo, the second-largest city, and almost all the rural areas of Idlib province. (Source: Prensa Latina)
