According to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the members of the brigades will learn about the impact of the U.S. blockade and the inclusion of Cuba in the terrorism list
Havana, Dec 25 (RHC) Two solidarity brigades from Australia and New Zealand, as well as Central America, will visit Cuba in January next year, according to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.
The Cruz del Sur group, consisting of 13 Australians and New Zealanders, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of its foundation in the Caribbean island with a volunteer work program, including interactions with the local population and visits to historical, scientific, and cultural sites of interest in several provinces.
During their stay, the activists will learn about the impact of the U.S. embargo on the Cuban economy and daily life, as well as the inclusion of Cuba on the State Department's list of countries that sponsor terrorism.
In turn, the 19 members of the second Central American Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba, representing Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico, and Panama, will also be informed about the national situation and will visit the provinces of Havana, Artemisa, Villa Clara, and Sancti Spiritus.
The Central Americans will be based at the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp in Caimito, where they will also engage in volunteer work. (Source: Prensa Latina)
