Cuba's First Vice President Meets with Visiting Guinea Bissau Prime Minister

Havana, November 25 (RHC) -– Cuban First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel, held official talks on Monday with the Prime Minister of Guinea Bissau, Domingos Simoes, who is on an official visit to Cuba.

Both officials extolled the friendly relations between Cuba and Guinea-Bissau, established in October 1973. During talks, they reiterated common willingness to cooperate in areas like health, education and agriculture.

Talks were also attended by the Guinean Minister of Foreign Business, International Cooperation and Communities, Mario Lopes da Rosa and the Minister of Defense Cadi Marie. From the Cuban side, Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations Rogelio Sierra also attended, accompanied by several officials of Cuba's Foreign Ministry.

In the morning, Simoes paid tribute to Jose Marti, national hero of Cuba, laying a wreath at the monument located in Havana's iconic Revolution Square. Simoes also toured the Jose Martí Memorial, where he learned details of the life of Apostle of Cuba.

The official visit of the prime minister of Guinea Bissau ends this Tuesday.
