Cuba and Britain Share Experiences on Economic Development

Havana, March 5 (RHC) -– Representatives of different Cuban public entities have been attending a seminar headed by Britain expert and researcher Matthew Cox in Havana.

The seminar, entitled “Doing Business: Promoting Economic Development and Direct Foreign Investment” is part of actions aimed at sharing experiences between Cubans and British. This event was designed by the Center for Studies on Cuban Economy and London's Public Administration International Company (PAI) and with the support of the British embassy in Havana.

The event, which concluded on Thursday, has been particularly aimed at addressing lessons, problems and challenges related to crucial issues for Cuban economy.

The rules of international trade, Customs issues, intellectual property and nature of direct foreign investment and its advantages and disadvantages are some of the topics on the event's agenda.

Learned lessons in different economies, their importance for Cuba and the encouragement of businesses have also been included in the seminar given by Cox, who is a former official with the British Commerce and Industry Ministry.
