Havana, May 14 (RHC) -– Cuba and the United States will hold another meeting in the coming weeks in Washington on re-opening embassies, according to Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

"In the coming weeks, there will be a new round of negotiations in Washington on re-establishing diplomatic relations and opening embassies," he told AFP in an exclusive interview. He added that the exact date has not yet been set.

The last talks between the two sides took place on March 16th in Havana. The fresh talks come as Cuba expects the official announcement of its removal from the controversial list of the State Department's list of countries that sponsor terrorism, considered a major barrier in the path towards the re-establishment of relations.

In addition, the Cuban foreign minister said that talks would deal with the issue of allowing the Cuban diplomatic mission in Washington to open a bank account, which it has not been able to do because of U.S. trade and financial sanctions on Havana.
