Recife, June 5 (RHC)-- Members of social movements and political and cultural organizations from Brazil ratified in the state of Pernambuco their unconditional support of the Cuban Revolution.
On the first day of the National Conference of Solidarity with Cuba in Brazil, participants also demanded the immediate return to Cuba of Guantanamo Bay, illegally occupied by the United States in the east of the Caribbean country.
The Cuban ambassador to the South American nation, Marielena Ruiz, expressed her appreciation for the Brazilian people's solidarity and pointed to the expansion of Brazilian groups of friendship with Cuba.
Today, participants at the solidarity gathering discussed issues related to the financial, economic and commercial blockade imposed by Washington against Cuba, the updating of Cuba's socialist economic model and medical collaboration by Cuba around the world.
