San Francisco, July 18 (RHC)-- Solidarity groups in the United States are planing new actions throughout this month to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the revolutionary attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, as well as the inauguration of the Cuban Embassy in Washington D.C.

The National Committee to Free the Cuban Five is a solidarity with Cuba group formed in 2001 in San Francisco, California, to support the cause of the Cuban Five.

The solidarity activists have repeatedly said that now that the Cuban Five are free and back in Cuba and Washington and Havana are re-establishing diplomatic relations, their solidarity work has not ended and that much remains to be done for true normalization of U.S.-Cuba relations.

They are calling on the U.S. government to end the blockade policy, return Guantánamo to their legitimate owners –- the Cuban people -- end the Cuban Adjustment Act and stop the destabilization campaigns against Cuba.

Solidarity with Cuba actions in the United States include a Cuban community event in Miami this Sunday, July 19th; a Cuban Film Festival in San Francisco, California on July 25th; a Noche Cubana event in Los Angeles, also on Saturday, July 25th; and a public celebration in front of the Cuban embassy in Washington, DC, Monday, July 20th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time.
