Havana, October 3 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raúl Castro presented visiting President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone with the José Martí Order –the highest distinction granted by the Cuban Council of State.
During the ceremony, held Friday evening at the Revolution Palace in Havana, Sayasone thanked the Cuban government and people for the gesture, as well as Cuba's support for his country's independence struggle.
Also on Friday, the presidents of Cuba and Laos held official talks, during which they confirmed their willingness to expand and strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation ties.
