Havana, October 28 (RHC-PL) -- A business mission from Panama has begun its work in Cuba to explore opportunities that will expand economic and trade ties between the two nations. Just over a month ago, during his first official visit to Havana, Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela expressed interest to increase bilateral economic ties and for cooperation in social spheres such as health and culture.

Media reports highlighted the conversations by Cuban President Raúl Castro and Varela at that time, about several aspects of the regional and international agenda, as well as economic issues.

According to the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, the Panamanian delegation will receive information related to the legal framework for foreign direct investment and business portfolios in the country.

According to the Chamber, on the Panamanian team are companies operating in the fields of construction, real estate, land and air transportation, energy, and electrical appliance manufacturing.

In addition, very important firms belonging to the fields of tourism, hydrocarbons, design, implementation and maintenance of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional electrical systems are also represented.
