Havana, October 28 (RHC)-- The Arab TV channel Al Mayadin granted its Lifetime Award this year to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in recognition his life-long dedication to the defense of just causes around the world.

The award granting ceremony took place Tuesday in the framework of the 2nd Cuban Radio and Television Convention, which is taking place here in the Cuban capital. Cuban intellectual Abel Prieto, advisor to President Raúl Castro, received the award on behalf of Fidel.

Abel Prieto thanked executives and workers at the Arab TV channel for the solidarity gesture, saying Fidel is undoubtedly one of the most prominent world leaders of the 20th and 21st centuries.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Al Mayadeed President Ghassan Ben Jeddo referred to Fidel as an example for all revolutionaries throughout the world.
