United Nations, January 27 (RHC-teleSUR) -- Cuban Ambassador to the United Nations Ana Silvia Rodriguez has called on members of the Security Council to take concrete action to put an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

On Tuesday, Ambassador Rodriguez took part in a discussion on the current situation in the Middle East.

She said that the current situation between Israelis and Palestinians was a direct consequence of Washington's continued refusal to stop Israel from building settlements in the occupied territories.

"Washington has continually made use of its veto power to prevent the U.N. from adopting a fair, definitive decision with regards to Palestine,” Rodriguez stated.
