Geneva, March 10 (RHC-PL) -- During the 31st Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Cuba defended the human right to privacy and to be legally protected against arbitrary and illegal invasions of private life.

Addressing the Council, Cuban representative Claudia Perez said: "We are worried about the violations to sovereignty and human rights, provoked by the surveillance and interception of communications and data, particularly the extra-territorial character of this 'global espionage.'

During her speech, Perez stressed that Cuba also rejects the militarization of cyberspace, as well as the use of covert and illegal computer systems to attack other states.
