Havana, June 24 (RHC)-- Cuba and Denmark have reached an agreement to restructure the Caribbean country's short-term debt with the European country.

The agreement was signed Thursday afternoon in Havana by Carl Johan Mortensen, International Policy Adviser of the Danish Export Credit Agency (EKF)  and Aleida González Mesidor, Vice President of the National Bank of Cuba (BNC).

Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas and Danish Ambassador to Cuba Henrik Bramsen Hahn presided over the signing ceremony.

The signed accord was as part of the implementation process of the Multilateral Agreement signed between Cuba and the Paris Club Ad-Hoc Group of creditor nations.

After the ceremony, Cabrisas and Ambassador Henrik Bramsen Hahn reviewed the state of bilateral relations, which they both described as 'positive'. They noted that this latest agreement paves the way for the further development of economic, commercial, financial and investment ties between the two countries.
