Cuban scientists remain committed to making progress in the fight against chronic diseases.

According to Radio Reloj, the current strategy of clinical trials has allowed the consolidation of this activity in the National Public Health System, and today more than one hundred investigations are underway in more than 240 clinical sites throughout the country.

More than 1,500 patients have benefited from new products from the prestigious Cuban biotechnology industry, mainly for the treatment of cancer and strokes.

With the necessary rigor, the evaluation of products aimed at acute myocardial infarction, rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, among others, is also carried out in Cuba.

More than 3,000 professionals participate in the execution of clinical research that responds to leading health problems in the country, where authorities guarantee free medical attention for the entire population.
