As part of official visits, work visits or to attend international meetings, Bolivian President Luis Arce has arrived in Havana on several occasions, the last of them recently.

The Bolivian and Cuban authorities defined the visit as a working visit, and emphasized the term "brother" when referring to the Heads of State of each nation.

The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, received his guest and both discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Arce's visit to Havana followed the delivery of humanitarian aid, basically food, to victims of heavy rains in the east of the largest of the Antilles.

As Bolivia's Vice Minister of Civil Defense, Juan Carlos Calvimontes, pointed out, his country is in solidarity with Cuba, which, he said, is suffering the consequences of climate change and the U.S. economic blockade.

Cubans welcomed with deep gratitude previous similar gestures of the South American country on the occasion of the Covid-19 pandemic and accidents.

To the satisfaction of both peoples, it was possible to resume ties after a breakdown during the de facto regime of Jeanine Áñez.

Today it has been possible to welcome back President Luis Arce, in whom the Cubans recognize an expert in economics, in addition to his other political qualities.

Last March, an important authority of the Andean country also visited Havana, the president of the Chamber of Senators of the Plurinational State, Andrónico Rodríguez, who assured that he will continue working in favor of cooperation.

The young Andrónico informed in an interview to this radio station his willingness to promote the objectives proposed by the presidents of Bolivia and Cuba and stressed the interest in achieving that the state airline of his country has direct flights to the Caribbean nation.

The legislator expressed his willingness to share experiences in the production of soybean, corn and other agricultural products.

The Cubans are aware of the progress made by Bolivians in agriculture and share their satisfaction at the progress made in the economy, as in the industrialization of lithium, with companies from China and Russia.

Within ALBA, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America, and bilaterally, Cuba and Bolivia are convinced of the importance of coordinating resources for the welfare of both peoples.
