An event in a part of Cuban families is currently taking place, creating optimal conditions for twelfth grade students to access higher education entrance exams.

With tests in Mathematics, Spanish and History, students put to the test the knowledge and skills acquired in high school and their entire school career.

This is a serious and responsible attempt to move on to higher education, where the demands are greater, which will require a great individual effort and family support.

For the country, it represents a decisive step to nurture the university specialties of a new student body, eager to make their way in institutions that teach and transmit values.

The Ministry of Higher Education has a great weight in the country's plans to have more capable graduates committed to their individual improvement and the advancement of the economy, arts, pedagogy, science and innovation.

In this context, the Ministry announced changes for the next school years, in line with the updating of the economic and social model of the Caribbean nation, with greater autonomy of the municipalities.

Experts say that they seek to move the process of access to universities from a strictly national perspective to one of greater territorial participation.

The idea is to harmonize the concept of providing study opportunities to all with the urgency of professionals at the base.

With this perspective, a procedure begins this academic year in three provinces, where the channels to the centers of higher studies are in tune with the interests of the territories.

In this way, Higher Education in Cuba comes even closer to the claim that it should provide each year a greater number of essential professionals in the municipalities, according to their characteristics and requirements.

In all cases, the same principles are maintained in the largest of the Antilles in the path of young people to the Universities, that is, rigor, transparency and placements according to the results obtained in the exams.

Many young people in this Caribbean nation put themselves to the test after arduous months of training, after which it is quite possible that they can enroll in the specialties of their choice.
