The Romerías de Mayo Cultural Festival is underway in the eastern city of Holguín, focusing on young art on the island.
Holguín has become the capital of young art in Cuba since the Hermanonos Saíz Young Artist Association –AHS- sponsors the festivities held each May in the city, combining tradition and modernity. Romerías de Mayo was originally a traditional Christian fiesta in the eastern city of Holguín which involved lots of food and drinking.
The current fiesta includes a display of the most representative national and international art forms and the best AHS projects in each Cuban province.
