Cuba's Teatro de las Estaciones
Havana, March 18 (RHC)-- Teatro de Las Estaciones theatre group from Matanzas province represents Cuba at the 3rd International Puppet Theatre Fair, which opened March 18th, online from the Dominican Republic.
Sources with the country’s Ministry of Culture said groups from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Venezuela and the host country are participating in the event, sponsored by the Cucaramácara Theatre Foundation, created 40 years ago.
Rubén Darío Salazar, director of Teatro de Las Estaciones said the group will present the show entitled ‘Todo está cantando en la vida’, a tribute to singer-songwriter Teresita Fernández, the author of countless children’s tunes.
«The show, based on Teresita’s songs had its world premiere in 2019 and was presented again last year on occasion of Tereista’s 90th birthday,’ said Darío Salazar, National Theatre laureate in 2020.
Pianist Hilda Elvira Santiago did the musical arrangements, with choreography by Yadiel Durán, and art design by also National Theatre Prize laureate in 2020 Zenén Calero.
Teatro de las Estaciones had previously performed on three different occasions in the Dominican Republic, representing Cuba at children’s theatre festivals.
«Now, we’re returning there, but in a different way, under different conditions as imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Once this crisis is over, sooner than later, we will return there to perform for the Dominican audience», commented Rubén Darío Salazar.
