Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba
Havana, April 27 (RHC)-- Cuba’s prestigious dance company Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba (LADC) invites choreographers from around the world to submit entries to a new international choreography competition, the bases of which will be officially announced on April 28. The contest is open to all dance styles.
In statements to Prensa Latina news agency, Cuban dancer, professor and choreographer Lizt Alfonso, the founding director of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba pointed to the impact Covid-19 has had on choreography, the art of creating and arranging dances.
The closure of theatres and drastic changes to regular dance classes and rehearsals, generated an explosion of solo dance choreographies and performances on digital platforms and social media.
Alfonso said the aim is to take advantage of the creative talent and artistic ability displayed by established and amateur choreographers alike.
The event is named DanceCoreo International. Its bases will be published at 2:00 pm (Cuban time) on April 28, on the Facebook and Instagram channels of Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba and on the dance company’s official website.
